శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులను తాను ప్రేమించిన స్త్రీ వద్ద నుండి తనను వేరుచేసినట్టు, శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువుకూడా తన భార్య వద్ద నుండి వేరు చేయబడి ఆ బాధను అనుభవించెదరని, ఒక కోతి రూపం గలవాడు శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువుకు ఆ సమయములో సహాయము చేయగలడని శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువుకు శాపం ఇచ్చెను .ఆ శాపం ఇచ్చిన తర్వాత శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు ఇదంతా శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు తనకు కలిగించిన భ్రమని గ్రహించెను .నిమి మహారాజు ఒక యజ్ఞమును నిర్వహించుటకు వశిష్ట మునివర్యులను కోరెను ,కానీ దేవేంద్రుడి యజ్ఞమును చేయుటకు ఒప్పుకున్నందు వలన అతని యజ్ఞము తర్వాత చేస్తానని తెలుపగా ,నిమి మహారాజు అందులకు వేచియుండక ఆ యజ్ఞము నిర్వహించుటకు గౌతమ మునిని నియమించెను .శ్రీ వశిష్ట మునివర్యులు మిక్కిలి ఆగ్రహము చెంది నిమి మహారాజుని ఒక శవంగా మారమని శపించెను ,అతని దేహమును సప్త ఋషులు చిలికినపుడు అతని దేహముతో మిథిలా నగరము ఏర్పడెను .శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు శ్రీ మహా లక్ష్మి తో ఆమె మిథిలా నగరములో జనకమహారాజుగారి
కుమార్తెగా అవతరించబోవునని తెలిపెను.అందరు మహాఋషులు లంక నుండి వెళ్ళిపోయినను ,రావణుడి సోదరుడైన విభీషణుడు యజ్ఞము గావుంచెను,అది తెలిసిన రావణుడు నిలిపివేశెను ,మిక్కిలి చింతనతో వున్న అతను వెంటనే అతని తల్లి వద్దకు వెళ్లి తన పుట్టుక గూర్చి తెలుపమనెను .తాను ఒక ఋషి కుమారుడని అతని తల్లి ఒక అసుర జాతికి చెందినయువతని అతను మూడు ప్రపంచములను జయించవలెనని సూచించెను.

Narad curses Lord Vishnu that just as he deprived him of a woman, Vishnu will also suffer the pains of separation from his wife and this very monkey whose face Narad carded, will help Lord Vishnu in due course. After cursing, Narad realises that the entire episode was an illusion created by Lord Vishnu to teach him a lesson and snub his arrogance. ....King Nimi asks Rishi Vashista to perform a yagna. As Vashishta had already accepted Lord Indra's yagna, he assures King Nimi that he will conclude his yagna later. But the King does not wait and accomplishes the yagna with the help of Rishi Gautam. A furious Rishi Vashista curses King Nimi to turn into a dead body. King Nimi’s body is kept in a churner which is churned by the seven Rishis and thus is bom Mithi, under whose name Mithila kingdom was formed. Lord Vishnu informs Laxmi that she will be born in King Janak's family.Though all the rishis have fled from Lanka, Ravan's younger brother Vibhishan performs a yagna. Ravan stops him. But a worried Ravan approaches his mother to ask her about himself. His mother informs him that he is the son of a Rishi, but his mother is an Asur and he has to conquer the three worlds.
