The Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo IMSA was developed in the late 1980s by Alfa Corse as a highly modified racing version of the production Alfa 75, built to compete in the IMSA-like “Silhouette” category of the Italian CIVT (Campionato Italiano Velocità Turismo). Introduced in 1987 and refined through 1988, it featured extreme wide-body aerodynamics, lightweight fiberglass panels, and a heavily tuned 1.8-liter turbo engine producing up to 450 HP. The car became famous for its spectacular performance, explosive turbo power delivery, and aggressive stance.
Driven by top Alfa Romeo factory drivers such as Nicola Larini and Fabrizio Tabaton, the 75 Turbo IMSA achieved significant success in national touring car racing, helping reinforce Alfa’s motorsport image in the late 1980s. It remains one of the most iconic and radical Alfa touring cars ever built.
