If you did spend all your candy from completing the NPC quests here are two options
1. Wait until part 2 for potentially more ways to earn candy.
2. AFK farm Frightful Bait Crates with Onirifalx or other rods with large control or progress speed until you can buy the bat whisperer rod
I love the rod, it's so fun without being too op. This rod is an investment. If you want to get the other rods, I suggest going for them first. Only go for the Bat Whisperer Rod if you want to get all the purchasable items from the event.
