Oh look, a video for a real person's birthday. Apparently birthdays are the only thing that inspire me to actually do shit anymore.

So last year I wanted to make a video about my favorite voice actor, David Matranga. And I wanted to have it done by his birthday. Well, I didn't get it done by then. And it just sat around unfinished. And then I finished it. But I never uploaded it. But then when 2022 came I wanted to re-edit it with some more recent clips and actually upload it on his birthday. This video was so much fun to make, but also really tedious with getting everything to flow just right. I've never made a video like this before, so it was a fun challenge. Sorry if some of the video and audio is bad. I did the best I could do. I worked too hard and long on this video not to upload it so.....

Oh my god, I LOVE DAVID MATRANGA SO SO MUCH! Have I iterated that enough by now? He's hands down my favorite voice actor. He's so talented. And there's just something about his voice that is just so comforting to listen to and is so attractive at the same time. Ok, so my love for David started with Todoroki. But Todoroki wasn't the first character I heard him voice. BUT he was the one that made me recognize his voice from other series I watched before I started watching MHA. I don't know. I guess nothing clicked until Todoroki. And it made me interested in proactively seeking out more of his work. That was at the end of 2020. And I've been making my way through his really long filmography ever since. Like 20 years worth of anime. As of now I've seen like 40 something of his almost 300 credits. So I have a long way to go. Dude has been in a lot of anime and he continues to do good work. I'm so happy, but at the same time I'm like FUCK DUDE!!!!!

So like any fangirl when there's an actor they like, I searched for videos of David on youtube. I've watched so many panels he's done from cons and stuff. He's such a charming and fun guy. He's also really intelligent and has a great sense of humor. And he's hot too HEART EYES We've interacted a lot on twitter. And a few times on instagram and tiktok as well. And that's been really cool!!!! But my dream came true when I got to meet David at a con back in October 2021. There was no line to meet him so I was able to go right up to his table and just talk to him. He was so incredibly nice and really easy to talk to (even for me who has really terrible social anxiety). I also got to meet Clifford Chapin (VA of Bakugo in MHA) and he was also super sweet and nice. I got 2 of my funko pops signed by them. I went to a panel with the voice actors and asked a question at the panel. I was going to add footage of it in this video, but I was way too embarrassed about it so I didn't. After the panel, I went back to David's table and got a few more autographs. And we had a nice conversation about Orphen. It was so cool. I was so beyond happy. And then that night, I went to see World Heroes Mission. It was the most amazing day! I couldn't wait to go to the con the next day and tell David how amazing his performance was in the movie. But......he (and the other VAs) had to leave a day early, so they couldn't be there. I actually cried in my hotel room as I was getting ready because I was so upset. I traveled so far and paid so much money to see him. However, I did get some free autographs from the con staff to compensate. They said the VAs felt bad for having to leave so they signed some extras to give to fans. So that was cool. I was and still am so incredibly happy I was able to meet David. I never thought I would ever get that chance and I'm so grateful. He's going to be at another con this summer that I'm hoping to go to. I would die if I get the chance to meet him again.

I just adore him so much. He's such a wonderful and kind human being. I'm really happy to support him and his work. I could gush about him forever.....but I won't. He's such a sweetheart and I hope that he has the most wonderful birthday!
