After multiple years of collective vision between the State of Connecticut, the University of Connecticut, the City of Waterbury, and Green Hub Development – plus $15 million of exhaustive renovation – UConn Waterbury has expanded its downtown campus with the Neil M. O'Leary Building, named to honor the former Mayor of Waterbury. The six-story, 130-year-old structure overlooking the Waterbury Green and formerly known as the Odd Fellows Hall houses UConn Waterbury health, humanities, social sciences, and neuroscience programs, as well as the Waterbury Robotics Institute. Far more than just a teaching center, the building features multiple research labs and maker spaces – making it a significant collaborative and community area that will bolster the city and region's growing reputation as a hub for advanced allied health expertise.
