Bohri shia azadari, Bohri shia marsiya, bohri shia nauha.
The Dawoodi Bohras are a religious denomination within the Ismā'īlī branch of Shia Islam. Their largest numbers reside in India, Pakistan, Yemen, East Africa, and the Middle East, with a smaller presence across Europe, North America, South East Asia, and Australia. Most estimates put the worldwide population to be one million.
The highly literate, tight-knit Dawoodi Bohra community are unusual for both fundamentalist and modernist outlook towards Islam. Jurisprudentially, they uphold religious pluralism and secularism. Like all Muslims, they pray five times a day, fast in the month of Ramadan, perform Haj and Umrah, and give Zakat. Predominantly informed by the Fatimid philosophy and theology, there's a marked emphasis on gender equality and philanthropy.
Mostly self-reliant, the Bohras are typically traders, businesspersons, and entrepreneurs. The word "Bohra", in fact, comes from the Gujarati word vohrvu or vyavahar, meaning "to trade".
According to the Hijri calendar followed by Bohra community, On the day of 10th Muharram, known as Ashura, an Azadari Juloos (Procession of Condolence) was carried out to commemorate the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussain.
While, several groups of young and old men were narrating the aftermath of battle of Karbala in the year 61 H, when 72 followers of Imam Hussain were killed by army of Yazid the tyrant king of Syria, young boys were marching holding Alams that signify Abbas ibne Ali, younger brother of Imam Hussain who was the flag bearer (Alamdaar) of Hussain’s group
