A former adviser to President Vladimir Putin has warned Europe that Russia would use nuclear weapons if it ever came close to defeat.
Sergey Karaganov called the idea of a Russian defeat by Europe “a fantastic illusion,” blaming such talk on the “intellectual incapacity” of European leaders.
Karaganov, who heads Russia’s Council for Foreign and Defense Policy and remains close to the Kremlin, made the remark during an interview with Tucker Carlson.
