We've all heard the steps in learning to code:

Take some courses, learn the skill, build the portfolio, land the job.

Today I want to talk about that third part....the portfolio. This, in my opinion, is often the weakest link in the chain. Not because the new developer doesn't HAVE a portfolio of apps, but because the portfolio he has is either very irrelevant OR its full of apps that he didn't TECHNICALLY build.
