How to Paint a COASTAL Scene - tips for painting seascape studies, colour mixing and tonal values

In this video I show you how to paint a seascape study inspired by the coast of Wellington, New Zealand. Painting studies are an important part of my painting process as it allows me to see the road ahead when it comes to painting larger art works. I painted this seascape study as I intend to paint a larger version of this coastal scene.

In this video I give you tips on creating atmospheric depth, colour mixing, understanding tonal values. I also give you general information on painting seascapes and the benefits of creating studies as part of the painting design process.
