The Ultimate Guide to Cracking Comic Book Slabs for Fun and Profit!

This video series will cover all aspects of Comic Book CCPR: Crack, Clean, Press, and Resubmit. We will cover how to evaluate a comic book CCPR candidate, crack open a slabbed comic book, clean and press the comic, and send if off to get re-graded to maximize value. This process is the same whether you are dealing with a PGX, CBCS, or CGC slab.

Usually, comic book CCPR is performed because it is believed the comic book in question has more potential than whatever grade it received. The best candidates have visible pressable and/or cleanable defects that are corroborated by graders notes from the company that initially graded the comic book. Crack, Clean, Press, and Resubmit can dramatically improve a comic book and in some cases dramatically increase the equity of a comic book and learning how to evaluate slabbed comics for CCPR is an important skill to grow the equity of your comic book collection.

Our CCPR candidate is a mid-grade Golden Age Comic Book: All American Comics No.83 in CGC 5.0 with White Pages. I purchased this book in February of 2022 for $189 plus shipping and taxes, with the intention of performing a crack, clean, press, and resubmit to CGC, so follow along as i get started!
