Complacent means feeling so satisfied with your own abilities or situation that you feel you do not need to try any harder:
Messi--despite being a superstar--never became complacent, and continued training hard every year.
And Bailly says some United players got too complacent about starting every game. This means they took their roles for granted, and stopped working as hard as they needed to.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, are trying to avoid complacency as the season comes to an end. To avoid complacency, they must remain disciplined and focused despite the long season.
Synonyms for complacent are
Pleased
Satisfied
Smug
It is often said that if you get too comfortable, you can become complacent.
If you have worked a job for a long time, and you just do enough to get by--you are probably being complacent.
Complacency can be detrimental to students. If you form habits of just doing enough, you probably won’t develop your skills at the level you need to.
Now that you have a better understanding of what complacent means, here is your task.
Write about something in your life that you are complacent about. Then create a plan to address your complacency.
Maybe you have become complacent with your school work, and need to devote more time to your studies.

Or maybe you have become complacent about your health, and need to get back on a workout routine.
So once again, your mission is this.
Write about something in your life that you are complacent about. Then create a plan to address your complacency.
