Cycling in Solidarity | From Movement to Impact: Final Fundraising Call for Disability Justice

Cycling in Solidarity 2025 is coming to a close—and what a year it has been. 🚴‍♀️

This yearlong, by-and-for disabled fundraising effort set out with a goal of $7,500 to support three disability-led, justice-driven organizations. Thanks to collective movement, generosity, and care, we smashed our goal:
✨ $9,700 raised and counting
✨ 120 supporters strong
✨ Miles cycled in solidarity, accountability, and liberation

Here’s how Cycling in Solidarity works👇
For every $50 donated, disabled organizer Sonya Rio-Glick committed to cycling one mile—turning movement into tangible resources for disability-led change. Each mile logged in real time represents collective action becoming real-world impact.
Inspired by The Future Is Disabled, Sonya transformed reflection into action—using her love of cycling to resource organizations already building a more just and accessible world for disabled people, while staying accountable to strengthening her own practice on the trike.
As an ambulatory wheelchair user, Sonya rides a recumbent trike, which she has found deeply liberating—both physically and politically. Cycling in Solidarity is about access, sustainability, and showing up for one another through movement and care.
