For over seven thousand years the Afghanistan gemstone industry has expanded in the value and number of gemstones produced. Today a private gemstone industry continues to flourish even under the pressure of the government, the Taliban and Covid-19. One can find Afghanistan gemstones in all the world’s major markets including North and South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and in the Gulf States.

The Gemstone industry in Afghanistan today is supported by private families, village people, village leaders, police and government officials.  Thousands of people are involved and supporting themselves and their families with funds provided by the gemstone industry.  The Afghanistan government, USAID and other organizations have started programs to advance the Gemstone Industry of Afghanistan.  USAID with DAI is planning a B2B conference on July 12th-15th in Dubai for a few Afghanistan sellers and international buyers. This is our fourth newsletter which has turned into more of a book with extensions than a newsletter.
Starting with zero signed up for the newsletter and no suppliers on Mr. Gary listings.  We now have more than 386 people receiving our newsletter directly and more than 2000 indirectly with sharing on You Tube, Facebook and LinkedIn.  More than 55 Afghans have listed their products.

The goal of this Newsletter is to assist in providing world gem industry buyers and other interested parties with an introduction through photos, products and contact information of Afghans who desire to sell their gem industry products.
