In Class Practices, Devine address how middle-class parents improve the life chances of their children through educational choices and how social class is consequently reproduced. Devine researched how middle-class parents attempt to secure their children’s social standing by fulfilling their potential and achieving successful careers, and addressed the changes in job security from the 1950s and 60s onwards.
