The Central Government has issued a formal notification for the 2027 Census, detailing the questions that will be asked during the enumeration process. Released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the notification states that heads of households will need to answer 33 questions related to housing, family members, vehicles, household assets and more.

The census will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, starting from April to September this year, will focus on house listing and collection of housing-related data.
