The grotesque sin of the Cities on the Plain (Sodom and Gomorrah) mirrors the wickedness of angelic lust for humans with the opposite: the wickedness of humans desiring to defile the angelic. The result is everlasting fire, which is typified by Sodom and Gomorrah's literal burning that lasted thousands of years until Judes own day. This serves as a warning of what happens when one seeks to escape the rightful place -- sexually or in the heavenly hierarchy -- in which God has placed that individual for that person's good and glory. We must wrestle with eternity's place in our understanding of God's supremacy and righteousness.
