These early-mid 2000s F1 mods from The Race Project are very good in places, but also exhibit some very visible flaws that if fixed, could make them a LOT better.
It’s fine when a mod is free, but they rightly should come under tighter scrutiny when behind a paywall. 🤔

The great things:
Superb car and steering wheel models.
Best ever driver model, beefier well-positioned arms & legs(important when in VR!) and configurable animations. ALL cars in AC need to have these, as the Kunos defaults are far too weedy!
Driver helmet skins, suit & gloves + track-specific liveries for all the races on the 2006 calendar.
Handling and sounds. 👍

The not so great things:
Some car’s ride heights are set too low, meaning the bottom of the stepped side-pods(never mind the lower plank!) scrape the ground.
Most of the front tyre cambers are still leaning in the positive direction(top of the tyre leans away from the car).
Many car’s base floor shadows are backwards and stretched-out behind them.
The tyres are far too dark and glossy. Yes tyres are black rubber, but not shiny jet black - they should be more matte in texture.
3D collider issues - the cars keep flipping over on some tracks, including Kunos' Monza! 😤

For myself, I managed to correct most of the glaring ‘not so great’ things, it’s just the glossy tyres, cars flipping(not on this track thankfully!) and front tyre camber issues that remain, so it might actually look better in this video, than what you get when you download. YMMV.
Hopefully TRP can rectify the issues raised, as I really like this mod! 🤞

How to enable driver hand animations:
In Content Manager, under the Assetto Corsa/Controls tab, select PATCH/Car and then bind whatever button/keys to the four Extra option A:, B:, C:, & D: controls.
These then enable the following four animations:
🖕🏻flip the bird, 👍🏻 thumbs up, ✊🏻 victory fist & 🫱🏻 push forward.
