I don't usually talk about these scandals that crop up every now and then on Twitch. I barely stream on Twitch, but I'd like to change that very soon.
But, the reason this one hit me is because I personally have depression and anxiety. I see things a little differently in life. You can be pleasant to people having a hard time in chat while still holding your own boundaries. The clips in question made me feel gross.
THIS is why people hold things in. This is why people don't share their innermost thoughts. They're afraid they'll be berated and humilated just like this.
To the creator this happened to, I hope you find communities more compassionate than this in the future. Not all of them are this level of all or nothing, I can promise you that. To the creator I'm talking about, I won't name you. I'm sure you've gotten plenty of attention from this. This isn't an attack. I just hope you can become a kinder person.
