SOLD: Fortepiano after J. A. Stein, by Hugh Gough, 1954. 68 keys, F - c’’’’, at A=432. Beautiful walnut case with decorative inlays. Reverse keyboard with ebony naturals and ivory sharps. Rebuilt by Gough in 1971; knee levers replaced with pedals (including split damper pedal to mirror the effect of the knee levers). Additional restoration in 1991 by noted historical keyboard conservator Tim Hamilton, Boston, MA. An fine instrument by an important British builder and student of Arnold Dolmetsch.
