The Rise, Fall and... Return of Parody Movies

The Naked Gun Reboot just came out, and as someone who loves parody movies, I’ve been missing this kind of comedy for years. So I went into this one a bit nervous… and came out pretty hopeful.

Parody (or spoof) comedy has been around for over a century, but it really peaked in the ‘80s with classics from Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and the ZAZ team. Classics like Airplane!, Top Secret!, Spaceballs, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Johnny English and Scary Movie just to name a few, but in recent years, spoof movies kind of disappeared, or worse - got lazy.

Let's hope this is the beginning of the comeback!
