Here’s some tips and tricks on how to remove and install a mechanical fuel pump on a small block Chevy.
Back story:
I noticed that my truck wouldn’t start because fuel was not going to the motor. After checking for clogged fuel lines, which I did by siphoning them, I made sure that the engine would fire with fuel in the carb and that the in-line filter was clean. Ultimately just changed the fuel pump which solved the no-start due to fuel starvation. Also include a tip on how to keep the fuel pump push rod from sliding down. Even though this is a Chevy Dumptruck the process is the same if you were doing it on say an 81 K10 or any other squarebody (or really anything with an SBC).
