4K road trip with Live GPS & Landmark info!
In this video, we drive from Gwangyang Port, across the YiSunsin Bridge, to the Yeosu Industrial Complex.
Gwangyang Port is a trade port located on the southern coast of Korea, and it is one of the country's four major trade ports, along with Busan, Incheon, and Ulsan. It is a logistics hub for the Yeosu Industrial Complex, POSCO steel plant, and nearby industrial complexes.
YiSunsin Bridge is a 2.26 km suspension bridge connecting Gwangyang City and Yeosu City. Admiral Yi Sunsin is a national hero of Korea who defended Joseon against Japanese invasions during the Imjin War. The bridge is named after him because the waters where the bridge is situated were the site of the Battle of Noryang, where he was killed in action. The main towers of the bridge are 270 meters high, the span between the towers is 1,545 meters, and the highest point of the bridge deck is 80 meters, all of which are the highest and longest in Korea. The span of 1,545 meters symbolizes Yi Sunsin's birth year (1545).
The Yeosu National Industrial Complex, or Yeosu Petrochemical Complex, is the largest petrochemical complex in Korea and one of the largest globally. It accounts for 46-49% of Korea's petrochemical production capacity. Currently, 294 companies operate within the complex, employing approximately 25,000 workers. Here, you can see the unique landscape created by numerous pipelines and massive chemical plants!
