This panel discussion with three visionary changemakers took place on day two of our inaugural BrainHealth Week, a five-day interactive experience encouraging people of all ages and circumstances to take simple steps to build healthy brain habits and boost their brain’s lifelong upward potential. Stay tuned for the next BrainHealth Week in February 2024!
Tuesday's theme focused on CLARITY: our readiness to reason through complex situations and create new opportunities/solutions.
Dr. Kara Allen oversees and guides philanthropic and community engagement as chief impact officer of Spurs Sports & Entertainment. She is a believer in human-centered leadership and the power of community – especially in young people and the adults who uplift them.
Katie Edwards, chief impact officer and president of the Mavs Foundation at Dallas Mavericks, has been a driving force to expand community impact for the Dallas Mavericks and nonprofits across the region. With more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the DFW philanthropic community, she focuses on nonprofit and corporate social responsibility.
Dr. Michael Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College, focuses on academic rigor, experiential learning, entrepreneurship – and valuing "we" over "me." His philosophy has led the college to become a model for urban higher education. One of the most decorated college presidents in the United States, he has been named one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune magazine.
