This is an overview of the dismantling of the cosmological argument for God. We delve into infinite regress, the history of the argument, and even Russell and Rand on "it is what it is, bro!"
If you watch closely, you'll notice that I'm a little confused and unsystematic about answering "infinite regress" with philosophy. They both deal with paradoxes, so it would make sense to include discussing it within philosophy.
My excuse as always is that it is unsystematic, but here's the outline: three questions or concerns: 1. Does nature demand a first cause or is it just there? 2. How problematic is infinite regress? and 3. Does it even posit your god?
Three conclusions: 1. infinite regress is a paradox that can be included in philosophy but has no answer. 2. Emotional reasons for continuing a failed historical argument argue against its use today and 3. Does not posit any specific creator, could be an alien.
Starring Aristotle, Aquinas, Leibniz, Hume, Kant, Russell and a couple dancing aliens.
