Dispatch Review – Is The Telltale-Style Superhero Game Worth Playing?

Dispatch is a choice-driven, story-focused superhero adventure inspired by the classic Telltale formula, though with a sharper comedic edge and a surprising amount of heart. It mixes an animated comic-book art style with a narrative full of emotional character moments, absurd humor, and some genuinely brutal fights. But with so many narrative games and visual novels releasing every year, is Dispatch actually worth playing?

In this review, I'll take a deep dive into Dispatch’s writing, characters, and worldbuilding, and explain what makes it stand out. I'll also cover the dispatching gameplay system where you manage a team of chaotic ex-villains, and explain why it’s far more addictive than it might seem at first glance. I'll also go over the branching dialogue trees, voice acting, animation and overall presentation, so this video should give you a great idea of what Dispatch does well, where it stumbles, and who will get the most out of it.

So whether you love superheroes, miss the storytelling style of classic Telltale games, or are simply curious if Dispatch is worth playing after all of the buzz, allow me to share my thoughts after two very, very eventful playthroughs.
