This powerful repetition-based shimmy workout is designed to loosen the hips, strengthen the core, and build cardio endurance, perfect for dancers looking to refine and energize their hip technique.
We start with 4 minutes on the yoga ball to open up the pelvis and activate the obliques, quads, and thighs, followed by 4 minutes standing to practice hip lifts and shimmies through continuous motion.
✨ This is a dynamic, fast-paced practice that:
✔️ Strengthens your glutes, legs, and abs
✔️ Builds shimmy control through repetition
✔️ Supports endurance and coordination
✔️ Warms up the body for dance or fitness training
⚠️ Note: This is not designed for total beginners.
If you’re new to shimmying, be gentle with yourself; you don’t need to complete all 8 minutes.
💗 Even 1–2 minutes of mindful practice is enough to start building strength and flow.
