The Combat of the 30 | The Wars of the Breton Succession [Episode 2]

In Episode 2 of the Wars of the Breton Succession series, Kevin Hicks explores the chivalric Combat of the 30, and asks the question, did the French cheat? The Combat of the Thirty was an episode in the Wars of the Breton Succession in 1351 where combat was fought to determine who would rule the Duchy of Brittany. Chivalry was a code of conduct developed in the 12th and 13th century, a perceived idea of honour and fair play. As part of the Hundred Years War and the Breton War of Succession, what may have started with a chivalric challenge to single combat, quickly escalated into a tournament to the death of 60 men.
