"Caterpillars" The New WildCraft 2D Short Film | Sarah Panda

"Caterpillars" tells the story of a wolf called Makai, who carries the bitterness of killing a fellow student when he was a child. Makai has been called 'murderer' by everyone living in his forest ever since, and this grievance haunts him all his life. His brother, Canter, is skeptical of Makai having committed the crime, as he was only 7 years old.
One night, Makai makes a peculiar encounter with a small creature. On the ground are caterpillars, which it pushes left and right. On asking who it is, it replies that it does not remember. Makai fears that perhaps he has gone mad and is halucinating. As the creature appears over again and conversations continue, Makai finds himself recalling more and more memories of his childhood. What is this all about? Will Makai stay ingrained in hatred towards himself for something he, perhaps, was merely pushed to believe?
