Parhaizgari aur Duniya se Be-Raghbati ka Bayan | Ch 3 Part 6 | Risala Qushayriya |Abu Qasim Qushayri

Hazrat Shibli (R.A.) says: “Wara‘ is to avoid everything other than Allah.”
Hazrat Abu Sulaiman Darani (R.A.) reminds us: “Wara‘ is the beginning of Zuhd, just as contentment is the edge of Ridha.”
Hazrat Yahya bin Mu‘adh (R.A.) explains: “Wara‘ means to stop exactly at the limit of knowledge — without excuses or desires.”

Through real-life examples of the saints —
🔸 Hazrat Ibrahim bin Adham (R.A.) refusing Zamzam water because the bucket wasn’t his,
🔸 Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (R.A.) rejecting his own bowl out of scrupulous caution,
🔸 Bishr Hafi (R.A.) avoiding doubtful food,
🔸 Malik bin Dinar (R.A.) not eating a single date of Basra —
this chapter shows how the true people of Allah purified their souls through precision and restraint.

Then comes the chapter on Zuhd (Detachment) — the state of freeing the heart from worldly attraction.
The Sufi masters teach that real Zuhd is not abandoning the world, but living in it without letting it live in your heart.
Sufyan Thawri (R.A.) said: “Zuhd is to lessen your hopes.”
Hasan Basri (R.A.) said: “Even a mustard seed of piety is better than a thousand prayers without sincerity.”
