A4 "Sir Nigel Gresley" visits the Watercress Line as star guest for the 2025 Autumn Steam Gala - 4K

A4 "Sir Nigel Gresley" visiting the Watercress Line for their 2025 Autumn Steam Gala was too good to miss. The wet and windy weather conditions, interspersed with occasional bright sunshine didn't stop the crowds turning up at the Watercress Line to see one of Sir Nigel Gresley's legendary A4's in action, alongside West Country Class No.34059 “Sir Archibald Sinclair” visiting from the Bluebell Railway. The home fleet was represented by Merchant Navy Class No.35005 “Canadian Pacific”, Ivatt Class 2 No.41312, LSWR Urie S15 Class No.30506 and Peckett No.1788 "Kilmersdon" on driver experience duties. In this video we visit Alresford, Ropley, Medstead & Four Marks and Alton to watch this awesome lineup of locomotives in action, finishing the day at Ropley Motive Power Depot to see the locomotives returning light engine after their last turns of the day to have their fires dropped and smokebox ash shovelled out before being serviced, coaled and watered ready for the next day.
