1969 Hotpoint Automatic Washer - Restored!

This 1969 Chicago made Hotpoint 2LW830 washer sat new, unused for several decades in a residential basement and was discovered in 2004 after some home buyers tried it out and decided they didn't like the old Hotpoint that was left behind. The collector tried to get it running only to discover the positive brake had thrown the brake pads from the brake assembly, leaving the washer unusable.
Fast forward to 2018, when it came to live in Iowa, the hunt for a brake began. Earlier this year an NOS brake was found! After some elbow grease and a rebuilt pump, it’s finally washing laundry again!
