Convincing Parents To Go On Exchange

I've seen the topic of convincing your parents to let you go abroad or convincing your parents to let you go on exchange around YouTube and thought it was time I let you know my thoughts. I didn't need to convince my parents when I wanted to go on exchange as a teenager. So I can't tell you what I did but I can tell you why I think my parents were so cool with the idea of me going abroad.

First thing, and I think the main reason, is that an exchange is educational. Push the point that it would be a valuable educational experience because I really don't believe there is any parent who wouldn't want there kids to be well educated.

Second is safety. Talk to your parents about the country if they think it's an unsafe location as well as talk about the organisation and what they do to make sure you're taken care of.

Finally, if cost is the problem, look for different exchange programs or perhaps one with a scholarship that will help you financially. Be resourceful and remember that there are lots of options.
