Original FOX Broadcast with Joe Buck and Tim McCarver recorded and digitalized off an original recorded VHS tape which was converted to DVD through a DVD burner (2002). Recently restored and has been added to the Phenia Films MLB archival page for the first time.
Knuckleballer Tom Candiotti for LA and Pete Harnisch for NY from Shea Stadium. Dodgers take the early lead in the first inning on a 2 RBI double by Raul Mondesi knocking in Todd Hollandsworth, and Mike Piazza.
Candiotti keeps the Mets hitless/scoreless until the third inning as the Mets tie the game on RBI singles from Lance Johnson and Jose Vizcaino.
The Dodgers take the 3-2 lead in the fourth inning as 3B Mike Blowers hits his 3rd HR of the season.
In the Mets sixth. and RBI from 1B Roberto Petagine followed by a RBI Double from RF Chris Jones to give the Mets and Pete Harnisch the 4-3 lead going into the top of the 7th.
Pete Harnisch gets the win (4-3) goes 7 innings giving up the 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 3 and is relived by Doug Henry in the 8th inning. Dodgers starter Tom Candiotti gets the loss (3-5) goes 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits.
John Franco comes in in the 9th inning puts the Dodgers down in order to earn his 11th save of the 1996 season
