SITUATION 21: A plain concrete beam has the following dimensions:
Width, b = 350 mm; depth, h = 600 mm
Concrete compressive strength fc’ = 34 MPa
Allowable tensile strength ft = 0.1 fc’
61. How much is the bending moment (kN-m) that will cause the plain concrete beam to crack?
62. The beam is cast with provision for a 185 mm diameter pipe located concentrically. How much is the resulting cracking moment (kN-m)?
63. The beam is cast with provision for a square duct 85 mm x 85 mm concentrically located. How much is the resulting cracking moment (kN-m)?
