【富山／日本遺産】岩瀬散策／北前船の寄港地として栄えた風情ある港町の町並み - Strolling in Iwasein TOYAMA, JAPAN

富山県富山市にある東岩瀬は、三津七湊の一つである岩瀬湊として知られ、江戸時代には北前船の寄港地として栄えた由緒ある港町 。
神通川の氾濫で港が西岩瀬から東岩瀬に移設し、町が築かれたのは1659年頃。
以来、加賀藩領の越中の物流と交易の拠点として栄えた。
通りに立ち並ぶ土蔵や瓦屋根の町家の景観が情緒を高める。
1873年の大火後、独自の「廻船問屋型家屋」や「防火土蔵造り」で町は再建され、今日まで良好に保存された町並みとして日本遺産に登録されている。
その歴史的建築や文化は今なお息づいている。
廻船問屋の邸宅、酒蔵、美味しい地物グルメ、港町ならではの風情を楽しめる。

Higashi-Iwase, located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, is a historic port town  known as Iwase Minato, one of the seven ports of Mitsu, and prospered as a port of call for Kitamae ships during the Edo period.
The port was moved from Nishi Iwase to Higashi-Iwase due to the flooding of the Jintsu River, and the town was built around 1659.
Since then, it has flourished as a distribution and trading center for the Kaga Domain's territory of Ecchu province.
The scenery of storehouses and tiled-roof townhouses lining the streets adds to the emotional appeal.
After the great fire of 1873, the town was rebuilt with unique “Kaisen wholesale house type houses” and “fireproof storehouse style” and is registered as a Japan Heritage site as a well-preserved townscape to this day.
Its historical architecture and culture are still alive today.
You can enjoy the mansions of the shipping agents, sake cellars, delicious local food, and the atmosphere of a port town.
