As the old adage goes, “necessity is the mother of invention/when there’s a will there’s a way.” This exact sentiment is what drove Jasmine Lawrence to launch EDEN BodyWorks back in 2004. After facing her first beauty challenge — a hair-damaging chemical burn — at age 11, Lawrence was shocked to learn about the lack of natural products that could help nurture and restore her hair. So, in true entrepreneurial fashion, she took to her kitchen and began concocting her own remedies. As a leader whose vision for helping others has no bounds, Lawrence also maintains a dual-career in the field of technology. Currently, she is a Product Manager on the Everyday Robot Project at X, the moonshot factory. The Everyday Robot project is building a new type of learning robot—one that can eventually learn to help everyone, every day. Prior to this, Lawrence held positions at Facebook on their Portal and Social Good teams and also at Microsoft on the company’s HoloLens Experience and Xbox Engineering teams.
