The Dumru Rhythm Festival by Gladpeople Music Management Company was first held at Mahalaxmi Lawns in Pune from 16th to 18th September 2011. 4 sessions of 4 hours each saw 24 top notch percussionists and drummers belt out some of the most powerful rhythms in the universe. The first season's first performance was a Jugalbandhi ( Duet) between ( late) Pandit Subhankar Bannerjee and Shri Gopal Barman with superb Harmonium accompaniment by Pandit Ajay Joglekar. They set the tone for what would go on to become India's favorite and biggest festival of Rhythm.
