Just an 8 month update! Since the last video I pulled the engine (reluctantly) to fix an oil leak that I initially thought was the the oil pan gasket. At the mileage, I figured I'd change the rear main seal as well. To my surprise, the A/C belt that shot off on the dyno, slipped passed (and damaged) the crank seal, and jammed up the oil pump pickup tube. What started off as a small leak festered, eventually starting to sling oil around the engine bay. Video is me highlighting and showing some upgrades, and commenting on the NVH!
After pulling the engine, I did a number of upgrades:
-Creative Steel engine mounts (OEM were torn in half)
-DSS 4" Aluminum driveshaft (OEM driveshaft CV and carrier bearing shot)
-LS2 timing chain damper
-Improved racing oil cooler adapter w/ thermostat
-LPE 2.55" upper and 8.6" lower (ATI balancer - 300 more RPM vs 9.6 lower/stock upper)
-Mishimoto oil cooler
-New GM crank seal
-New GM rear main seal
-New GM oil pan gasket
-Improved racing billet oil diverter barbell
-New oil pump o-ring
-New 6l90 oil pan gasket
-New 6l90 filter and seal (Valvoline fluid)
-DELETED hi flow cats
-DELETED 6l90 lines going into radiator (custom lines into separate cooler)
-Moroso catch can (Mighty Mouse interfered with Kong lid lines)
-New TR7IX plugs gapped to 28 w/ new GM plug wires
-Rerouted the Kong Performance Lid water lines
I may be missing a few things. Next vids will be some dyno pulls, Apple CarPlay upgrade to the stock Nav unit, fuel upgrades, cosmetics, etc... I will get back to regular vids soon. The manual swap is still 100% happening and I'm kicking around the idea of going iron block and turning up the boost.
