I used a script to do this and it still took 7 hours. To make this, I used Adobe Audition to mark every note precisely, while also recording the pitch and sylable along with its start and end time. I saved it as a .WAV file, and used the program CueListTool to rip the markers from the .WAV file. I then put that into a CSV, and manipulated it with Python to sort on the notes, and generate an edit list and subtitles file. It took 7 hours because the marking process took a very long time, and then it was a lot of trial an error to be able to generate the final result. The annoying part is that the music video doesn't actually match the CD version of the song, so I had to duplicate parts of the source video in order to get it to match up right. I then imported the edit list into Sony Vegas, then exported that to a lossless .AVI, and uploaded that straight to YouTube.
