O.M.G. Can't believe they built this Mausoleum to small for the coffin, what where they thinking...mini explore.
The Mausoleum was built in 1911 at Greyladyes Park for Captain Shaw Storey. In January 1905 Captain Shaw died & was buried at Sarisbury. Later in 1911 Mrs Shaw Storey had her husband exhumed & brought to the Mausoleum.The coffin was too large to go inside so he was re-buried outside. The grave next to his is that of Emmeline Shaw Storey his wife, who died in 1937 aged 95.
St Leonard's Church I went to look around as the Mausoleum was near by but unfortunately it was closed.
The church in Old Bursledon can trace its history back to the last half of the 12th Century. in 1888-9 the church was extensively re-modelled.
