Geodetic coordinates are defined when an ellipsoid is considered as the reference surface, or the shape of the Earth. Converting geodetic coordinates to Cartesian coordinates is very important in Geodesy and one the basic points.

In this video lecture, after defining the geodetic coordinates, derivation of the mathematical models for converting them to Cartesian form are explained.
