Do you have little space like a windowsill or small balcony or a in a shady garden space which only gets a few hours of direct sunlight? And you also don't have any prior experience of gardening, but you still want to grow your own vegetables? There is only one solution of it - grow microgreens! You can easily grow these vegetables in shade, without proper sunlight. Microgreens are the baby plants when the first leaves (also known as cotyledon leaves) have developed, that is just after the sprouting. Depending on the varieties, they can range from 1 to 3 inches long including leaves and the stem. They are usually harvested very soon after the sprouting (7 to 12 days) and can be eaten as the baby leaves along with the stem. There are tons of vegetables which can be grown as microgreens, to name a few among them - Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cabbage, Radish, Watercress, Lettuce, Chicory, Radicchio, Carrot, Fennel, Dill, Celery, Garlic, Onion, Leek, Amaranth, Swiss chard, Beet, Spinach, Cucumber, Squash, Chickpeas, Beans, Lentils such as mustard and many more.
