In the Wake of Tragedy: Teaching Our Children Civics, History, and Legacy

Today we pause to reflect on the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, who was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. Whether or not you agreed with his politics, his sudden passing is a sobering reminder of the fragility of life, the weight of leadership, and the importance of preparing the next generation for thoughtful, principled citizenship.

In this video, I share why moments like this call us to teach our children civics and history, not merely as facts to memorize, but as truths that shape character, courage, and care for their fellow man. With wisdom from scripture, historic statesmen, and Charlotte Mason’s timeless insights on education, we’ll consider how to raise children who can carry the torch of faith and responsibility into the future.
