In part 2 of this 2-part diagnostic series, we wrap up the no start issue on a 2010 Ford F-150 with a 4.6L V8.
The shop had already replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump driver module, but it still wouldn't run. In part 1 , I scoped the circuits and misdiagnosed the fuel pump module as faulty-turns out, the PCM was the real failure.
In this video-
-I install a used PCm
-Program it using Ford software
-Truck starts immediately after programming
-Capture known good waveform on the fuel pump command wire using the lab scope
This is a great follow up to see the power of waveform confirmation and how programming a used PCM can bring a vehicle back to life.
