To commemorate 50 years since the very end of steam power on British Railways, the Great Central Railway held an End-of-Steam themed gala using their strong LMS & Standard homefleet.
The gala portrayed a variety of the sight you could have seen 50 years ago, from passenger to freight, as well as diesels taking over.
The highlight must have been the high-speed run past by the double headed train of LMS 8F 48624 and BR 5MT 73156 (both renumbered for the event).
