Def Leppard - Gods of War (guitar cover)

This might seem a little out of left field for some, but I have a huge soft spot for Def Leppard that started with getting Pyromania for Christmas in 1983. It established what I still consider to this day the best rhythm guitar sound ever and introduced me to and solidified my love for hard rock. And so it was also in December, thirty three years ago (1987) when I acquired Hysteria. Always reminds me of winter/Christmas time. I suppose Gods of War would be considered a deep cut and one of the only tunes on the album that wasn't issued as a single (to my knowledge), or didn't have some sort of promotion on radio or Mtv; however, it's my favorite from the album. I LOVE it! It oozes atmosphere and it's pretty darn heavy for them, considering. This was very soothing on the massive headache I was suffering when I got home today. This song always has a soothing effect for some reason especially when you play along.

 

There are several more guitars in the original mix, but I decided to try to track it as how it could be orchestrated live with just 2 guitars and ebows in the intro. With the exception of the highlighted mistake and one in post production, and the crap jokes, I think I did an okay job. And please... pardon my improvisational noodling at the end.
