The second half of a journey down the old Vanderbilt Motor Parkway which lasted roughly thirty years from about 1909 to 1938. There is a presentation of every entry and exit point which once existed along the famous road from Queens to Lake Ronkonkoma. There were also toll houses at all of these locations. In addition, you can learn a little about the man, William K. Vanderbilt II, and his plan, that being the first paved road in the United States which served for two years as a raceway and the rest as a toll highway.
