Motif

I wanted to overcome my sadness, which stems from various stuffs, through making the song which expresses not only my painful heart but also my strong will it with with positive thinkings and heartwarming mindset.

“出会い(de-ai, encounter)”

The title, 出会い(de-ai, encounter), might seem a little unrelated to my explanation above, but I would like to emphasize the two perspectives of greetings.

The start section of this song is same as the closing section,deliberately leaving the song open-ended rather than conclusive. Both the beginning and the end sections represent the greetings between me and another person.

Although two sections - the beginning and the end, are melodically almost identical, what they aim to express is completely different. The first section of the greetings, followed by a variety of melodic emotions, reflects the various feelings I experienced after initial meeting. The second section also represents a greeting, but I intentionally leave it without any subsequent music. That signifies my hope to create more happy feelings through what I endured following that initial meeting.

Genre

I typically compose the music which can be adapted to movie, game, or other mediums, whereas this music is less considered for those mediums. I don’t know how this music can be used, but I would like to define this music as “modern classical, new-age, easy-listening music”.

While primarily composed as a standalone piece, this music could potentially be used in various contexts:

Meditation and mindfulness sessions
Background music for emotional scenes in indie films
Therapeutic music playlists
Art gallery exhibitions

The versatility of the composition allows it to adapt to different settings while maintaining its core emotional message.

Musical Elements

The composition incorporates several key musical elements that contribute to its emotional depth:

*Identical beginning and ending section :* As I wrote at the beginning of this post, I would to like express the two different greetings through the sections.
*Repetition of Piano melody and chord :* Affectionate repetitive piano melody with orchestral development (01:14~02:37) is intended to imprint poignancy. To avoid boredom of repetition, orchestral development and variation are added, which sometimes give hopeful and mighty mood to dodge excessive sad mood.

Strings(Vn1, Vn2, Va, Vcl, Db), Woodwinds(Fl, Ob, Cl, Fg), Horns, Guitar(for Melody line), Celesta, Synth Bass

Other brass such as trumpet or trumbone are not used to avoid excessive expression.
