「從蒸汽火車到新幹線」，收藏日本近代化進程中的54輛代表性車輛。
收藏具有歷史價值的車輛，像是0系列新幹線的第1號車、實現以時速300公里營運行駛，亦列入金氏世界記錄的500系列新幹線電車、戰後牽引特快列車，國鐵最大的蒸汽火車C62型蒸汽火車等。

日本の近代化を牽引した54両の「蒸気機関車から新幹線まで」を収蔵
0系新幹線電車の第1号車や、時速300kmでの営業運転を実現した500系新幹線電車、国鉄最大のC62形蒸気機関車など、歴史的に価値のある貴重な車両を数多く展示しています。
