2006 - The M3 GTR is totalled in the Canyons surrounding Palmont City.

2019 - Corrupt police officer Frank Mercer uses the M3 GTR in an attempt to escape justice.

How did it get here? Let's try and connect the dots.

I don't go so far as discussing the origins of the car. Frankly that's far more convoluted than what might have happened in the 13 years since it's last canon appearance.

How a non road legal race car found itself in the hands of street racers is a story for another video. For now, let's just concentrate on the intervening years between Carbon and Heat.
